Downloading Older Versions of Xcode

Those of you running older versions of macOS will run into problems if you try to install Xcode from the Mac App Store. The Mac App Store has only the most recent version of Xcode. The most recent version of Xcode usually requires the latest version of macOS. How do you download older versions of Xcode?

Apple’s Xcode Downloads Page

Apple has an Xcode Downloads page where you can download older Xcode versions.

Xcode Releases

A faster way to find Apple’s download links is to go to Xcode Releases. The Xcode Releases site has Apple’s download links for every version of Xcode. Xcode Releases also lists the minimum version of macOS required for each Xcode version.

Xcodes App

The Xcodes app provides another way to install older versions of Xcode. I have not use Xcodes, but lots of developers recommend it for downloading and installing Xcode.
